Mulan - updated!

Materials: Panama stretch, chiffon, dancetime satin, brocade

I finally got around to completing this costume. I ended up re-making the cream skirt because I noticed one of the panels was a different shade to the other. It may not have been obvious, but ever the perfectionist, I couldn't leave it alone. 

My hair was finally long enough that I could style it in a similar manner using a hair doughnut.

Mulan - Comb

Materials: Pat-a-Clay, plastic comb, barette

Pat-a-Clay is a special air-dry modelling clay used for Thai clay flowers. When dry, it's still a little flexible. Oil paints were mixed into the clay before being rolled out with a pasta maker between sheets of plastic. I cut out the petals with a scalpel. The clay pieces were superglued to the comb.

I would like to re-make this at some point as it's gotten a little worse for wear over the years.
